Role and Responsibilities
We are now seeking an electrical power engineer at ABB Electrification with extensive experience in the power industry who wants to become part of our project organization!
Here, you will be a key player with the opportunity to work with leading technology and exciting projects at a global company. You will be the cohesive link in designing the technical solution for our projects, involved from project planning to commissioning. We are looking for someone who enjoys challenging projects, takes responsibility, and creates sustainable solutions with structure and quality. You will report to the Manager of Project Operations. The position is preferably located in Västerås, but other locations will be considered.
Responsibilities:
• In this role, you will have the opportunity to take personal responsibility for design work while being part of a project team that collaborates to ensure technical solutions and successful project deliveries for our customers.
• Ensure that the solution and associated design meet customer requirements, laws, and standards.
• Examples of documentation that may need to be constructed or revised:
- Circuit diagrams
- Internal/external connection tables
- Equipment lists
- Cable lists
- Layouts (control cabinets, switchgear fronts, rooms/buildings)
• The role involves gathering information from our customers, conducting site visits, and occasionally participating in testing and commissioning.
Your Background
• You have good technical knowledge of electrical power, acquired through practical field experience, such as service technician or control facility engineer. A university degree in electrical power is meritorious but not required.
• You have a good technical understanding of electrical system structure, from low to medium voltage. It is meritorious if you have knowledge and experience with ABB switchgear and its components.
• You have good knowledge and experience with design in AutoCad, ElProCad, and/or elMaster.
• You have good experience working with relay protection, design, and installation. Previous experience with configuration, 61850 protocol, testing & commissioning, troubleshooting, and electrical installation Authorization A, AL is meritorious.
• You are a structured person who enjoys designing and analyzing electrical power facility challenges to find qualitative solutions.
• You are engaged, thorough, and like working towards set goals and deadlines. You are also service-oriented and have the ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, in Swedish and English, internally and to external parties.
• As travel is part of the job, a B driver's license is required.

ABB Electrification Service is a leading provider of aftermarket products and services for electrical power facilities, primarily low and medium voltage switchgear. We strive to be close to our customers and are represented throughout Sweden - from Gällivare in the north to Malmö in the south. Our mission is to maximize availability, reliability, and predictability of electrical power while helping our customers reduce their environmental impact. We cover the entire lifecycle of the facility from commissioning to replacement. Here, you work independently but are part of a skilled team consisting of tender engineers, designers, and project managers for low and medium voltage switchgear. The rest of the organization consists of sales representatives, service coordinators, contract managers, administrative staff, and our service engineers who help our customers on-site every day.
