About this role

Do you want to make an impact on real products, from idea to verified hardware, and have close interactions with both customers and colleagues? At Etteplan in Linköping, we develop solutions that make a difference—for the industry and society—together with over 4,000 technical specialists at Etteplan. Here in Linköping, you will also be part of an environment characterized by short decision-making paths and tangible products, with a dynamic mix of in-house projects and assignments at customer sites. You will become a part of a strong electronics and embedded community where knowledge is shared and best practices are developed together. Your Role In your role as a senior electronics developer at Etteplan, you will work in cross-functional teams throughout the entire development chain. You will engage in everything from requirements specification and architecture to prototyping and testing. Depending on the nature of the assignment, this may involve analog or digital design, high-speed solutions, power design, test systems, or EMC adaptations. You will collaborate closely with colleagues in areas including embedded programming, mechanics, and documentation to jointly develop robust and reliable systems. We have a well-equipped electronics lab with tools and measuring equipment where you can bring up prototypes, troubleshoot products, and solder as needed. There is also a smaller EMC lab for, for example, pre-compliance measurements where you can perform simple emission and immunity tests if a project requires it. Additionally, we have mechanics labs and 3D printers. At Etteplan, we support each other, and your colleagues will stand by you just as you will support them. We have a wealth of expertise and a pleasant work environment within our walls. We place great value on our unpretentious culture in the office. Our assignments often involve sensors, motor control, and wireless communication, including solutions linked to apps or cloud services. The majority of projects are conducted in-house at our own facilities, but sometimes we also work on-site with customers. Our projects range from rapid prototyping to smart sensor systems and strictly process-driven projects for aerospace and military applications. Once a month, you will have the opportunity to attend an after-work activity organized by the local Social Committee. Besides that, Etteplan hosts a couple of larger events each year, and it's not uncommon to have after-work activities within projects. Your Profile We are looking for an experienced electronics engineer with a genuine technical interest, good collaboration skills, and a customer-focused approach. You hold a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in engineering (or have equivalent experience) and have at least five years of experience in electronics design for embedded systems. You are accustomed to taking responsibility for electronics architecture, schematics and layout development, production documentation, correspondence with suppliers, as well as planning and conducting testing. You have experience with both digital and analog electronics. You thrive in an environment where you can combine practical work with strategic understanding, and you have a good insight into regulatory requirements related to electronics development. You have practical experience in measurement technology and are comfortable with tools such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and VNAs. You have worked with requirements management and are used to collaborating across different functions. Your years in the industry have provided you with experience with one or more E-CAD tools, such as Altium, Xpedition, OrCAD, or PADS. We primarily work with Altium in-house. Desirable Experience - Experience with CE testing, EMC, LVD, RED, or other regulatory frameworks. - Knowledge in RF design, simulation, and measurement. - Experience in programming embedded systems in C. If you have also worked with DFMEA, configuration management (CM), or quality processes, that is a significant plus. Being a Consultant at Etteplan As a senior consultant at Etteplan, you will work on exciting and complex assignments where your experience truly makes a difference. You combine the security of a stable employer with the opportunity to contribute to projects that are both technically challenging and span industries affecting people’s everyday lives and futures. We see your experience as key to finding smart, sustainable, and efficient solutions. We offer an environment where you can further develop, whether you want to deepen your specialized knowledge, lead projects, or act as an advisor. Here, you meet both junior talents and colleagues with extensive experience, and together we drive innovative solutions that benefit both customers and society. We offer secure and competitive conditions, with collective agreements, occupational pension according to ITP1 or ITP2 (including flexible pension) and insurance. Additionally, health benefits and access to occupational health services are included. Would you like to know more about our benefits? You can find the complete list further down on the page.
