About this role
We are looking for a corporate controller for our client in Gothenburg. This assignment addresses an interim need for a corporate controller until a permanent recruitment is in place. The corporate controller provides strategic support to the CEO in the company’s governance and management processes, particularly in the overall budgeting, operational planning, and follow-up cycle. The focus is not only on financial follow-up but also on understanding and navigating the specific logic that comes with municipal ownership—where owner governance, political decisions, and municipal processes impact operations. The role combines a holistic perspective with proximity to the operational business.
Responsibilities:
Your assignment includes, among other tasks:
• Planning, anchoring, and leading the company’s goal-setting process together with the CEO and management team.
• Ensuring that the owners' overall goal governance is integrated into the company’s own goal and follow-up model.
• Supporting the CEO in preparing for management meetings according to the annual cycle and taking minutes.
• Having overall responsibility for quality assurance of decision-making and information matters for the board and, if necessary, preparing independent matters.
• Monitoring decisions and minutes from the owner municipalities' political bodies and raising relevant points to management.
• Preparing and administering meetings in technical-economic delegation forums (agenda, minutes, execution, and follow-up of decisions).
• Acting as a contact point with the Swedish Companies Registration Office.
The corporate controller is part of an internal team that supports management, employees, and the board. The team consists of approximately 17 specialists in finance, HR, procurement, communication, registration, and board administration. The role has a particularly close collaboration with the administrative function in preparation for board meetings and other strategic forums related to corporate governance.
Required Qualifications:
• Relevant academic education in finance/public administration or equivalent higher education.
• Several years of experience as a controller in the public sector. Experience in controlling from municipal companies or experience as a committee secretary/committee coordinator is a plus.
• Good understanding of municipal processes and corporate governance.
• Ability to see the big picture.
• Excellent written communication skills and accustomed to working in a structured and orderly manner.
• Detail-oriented with a strong discipline for deadlines and deliverables.
• Experience in business development.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience working in or closely with a management team.
• Experience from municipally or regionally owned companies.

Start date: December 1, 2025
End date: April 30, 2026. Possibility of a 2-month extension up to 12 months.
