Are you ready to join us on our exciting journey? Ellevio is one of Sweden's largest energy companies, and together we continue to electrify Sweden. With us, you will be part of a secure and vital future industry while having the opportunity to make a difference, grow as an individual, and have a great time along the way! We believe in a bright and sustainable future; do you?
Are you an expert in protection and selectivity? Take the next step with Ellevio!
About the role of Selectivity Engineer
Protection and control equipment is becoming increasingly complex in the future power grid, which means higher demands and new challenges. As a selectivity engineer, you will provide technical support to the operations, maintenance, and project organizations, as well as collaborate with consultants, contractors, and other external stakeholders. The position covers Ellevio's local and regional power grids from Halland in the south to Hälsingland in the north, including the Stockholm area. In your role at Ellevio, you will work with:
• Development of selectivity plans and relay protection settings
• FAT/SAT of protection and control systems
• Fault isolation philosophies
• Disturbance investigations and analyses regarding protection functionality
• Improvement work on technical governing documents and processes
At our offices in Stockholm and Karlstad, we have now established modern testing labs. These are used to ensure the quality of new systems and products during procurement, as well as to investigate components after network incidents and to practically test and adjust protection functions. Here, you and your colleagues will be able to collaborate in real-time using digital tools to test and verify new concepts aimed at preventing operational disruptions and creating a smarter and safer grid.
You will be part of a team of 11 people located in Stockholm, Karlstad, and Kungsbacka. Your base of operations can therefore be at any of these offices or at our office in Bollnäs.
Together with your colleagues in Selectivity, you will be a key player in ensuring fast, safe, and selective fault isolation in our power grid!
About you
To fit and thrive in the role of selectivity engineer, you should have a university degree in electrical power, energy systems, or a related field. If you lack formal education in the relevant area, you need to have acquired equivalent competence through previous work experience.
Your knowledge of power grids and their components for local and regional networks is strong. You have several years of experience in similar tasks.
It is advantageous if you have prior experience in configuring and testing relay protection systems, selectivity plans for meshed power grids, and power quality analyses. Experience with network solutions such as IEC 61850, programming in Python, and calculations in PSS®E or SINCAL is also a plus.
We will place great emphasis on your personal qualities, and we consider it important that you are an analytical person with a careful and systematic approach to work. You feel confident in yourself and your skills, which gives you the ability to drive processes forward and make your own assessments and priorities in your work. You work best when you have many points of contact while also enjoying working independently with a great deal of freedom. You are a good communicator, both verbally and in writing. The role involves travel to stations and customers, so a valid driver's license (category B) is required.
Ellevio as an employer
