Anopiva (anesthesia, surgery, and intensive care) is the largest clinic at Linköping University Hospital in Region Östergötland. The clinic is organized into three sections – intensive care section, operation north, operation south – and the sterile technical unit, with a total of over 500 employees. At operation south and operation north, surgical healthcare is provided in collaboration with most of the region's surgical specialties. The operation unit is undergoing an organizational change to increase surgical capacity at the University Hospital with robustness, plannability, and predictability, while strengthening care quality, patient safety, and work environment. The intensive care section includes intensive care units (Civa), post-operative care (Postop), and intermediate care (Cima). Job Description The management role involves a responsibility delegated by the clinic manager for the unit's results, R&D, and development, with responsibility for operations, economy, personnel, quality, and work environment. The section chief's task is to work with the clinic manager and other clinic managers to achieve the operation's goals. The section chief has overall medical responsibility for the section's operations and its development, personnel and work environment responsibility for doctors connected to the section and a portion of the clinic's resident doctors, as well as production within the unit. The section chief closely collaborates with the care unit managers who have personnel responsibility for other employees in the section and with other section chiefs in the clinic, is part of the clinic's management group, and is directly subordinate to the clinic manager. The section chief role is associated with 50% clinical service and is a four-year appointment during a simultaneous permanent employment at Anopiva. Work Group The work group consists of doctors connected to the section, with the section chief as their immediate manager. The section chief also closely collaborates with care unit managers and other section chiefs in the clinic and is part of the clinic's management group, which involves close cooperation across the unit's different parts. Group competence is ensured, among other things, by the section chief being responsible for annual development discussions with doctors. Further competence transfer and development occur through workplace meetings and study days organized in collaboration with education managers and care unit managers. Collaboration within the work group is characterized by close and regular cooperation between section chief, clinic manager, care unit managers, and other section chiefs. Together, they are responsible for issues such as salary setting, work environment, recruitment, and operational development. An important part of the operation's focus is to continuously improve patient safety, accessibility, approach, and quality. About You You are a licensed physician, preferably a specialist or senior physician in anesthesia and intensive care. Clinical skill, leadership experience or leadership training, as well as research experience, are meritorious. To thrive and fit in with us, your personal qualities are important.
