Criminal Corrections is growing - we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and are now seeking more employees. Our most important goal is to reduce recidivism - to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society becomes safer for everyone. We are the authority responsible for correctional facilities, probation services, remand centers, and client transports.
Region North stretches from Falun in the south to Gällivare in the north. The region consists of Norrbotten, Västerbotten, Jämtland, Västernorrland, Gävleborg, and Dalarna counties.
We are now seeking our new Section Chief, who will also serve as the Deputy Regional Director, located at the regional office in Härnösand. We are looking for an experienced and development-oriented manager and leader who wants to make a difference in a rapidly growing authority.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As a manager within Criminal Corrections, you work with a complex and interesting societal mission during significant growth. To support the Regional Director and Correction Services Chiefs in their assignments, the Section Chief leads and coordinates work at the regional office. In your role, you have a central part in collaboration with headquarters departments and section chiefs in other regions.
As Section Chief, you are the Regional Director's deputy and have special responsibility for coordinating management and support processes within the region. Criminal Corrections has never faced such growth as today, which requires a structured approach where you play an important role. You lead planning, implementation, and follow-up of national and regional assignments. You ensure good collaboration aimed at achieving common goals and finding effective cross-border working methods.
You are part of the Regional Director's management team together with Facility, Remand, and Probation Chiefs, as well as HR Chief. In the regional management group, you contribute to developing operations and translating Criminal Corrections' overarching goals into practice.
The Section Chief has operational, budgetary, and direct personnel responsibility for the Group Manager of regionally coordinated staffing, operational experts/security administrators, and administrators. The number of employees may change as Criminal Corrections faces significant growth, which requires support to follow this development. The Section Chief also has a coordinating work environment responsibility for employees organizationally belonging to headquarters but placed at the regional office in Härnösand.

To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:
• Academic education/degree of at least 120 credits corresponding to two years at college/university in areas Criminal Corrections deems relevant, or other education combined with experience Criminal Corrections finds relevant
• Multiple years of well-documented management experience
• Well-documented experience leading development work and driving change processes
• Good knowledge of overall conditions (regulations, budget, employer policies, etc.) for public operations, preferably state
• Good Swedish language skills in both speech and writing

• Documented leadership training
• Experience leading through other managers
• Experience with preparation and decision-making processes
• Experience leading experts/specialists
• Experience from multiple operational branches within Criminal Corrections
• Experience from another authority in the legal chain
