Section Manager for Cold Processing
The tube manufacturing at Ovako in Hofors produces 50,000 tons of seamless tubes annually for customers with high demands on materials and tolerances. Our main industrial segments are bearing, automotive, mining, and manufacturing industries. In Cold Processing, over 10,000 tons are further processed each year, including processes such as pickling, phosphating, step rolling, drawing, turning, inspection, and finishing.
We are now seeking a dedicated section manager for Cold Processing who, together with their team, wants to develop the operation, particularly regarding safety and productivity. As section manager, you will have personnel responsibility for 47 employees, including production coordinators, production developers, and material planners. Your responsibilities will naturally include safety, which we at Ovako always prioritize. It is essential that you can balance daily operations and urgent disruptions with long-term systematic work for continuous improvements. You will be part of the management team for Processed Tubes.
Your main responsibilities
You will lead the operational activities towards set goals in safety, quality, and productivity. This includes capturing disruptions and problems through daily management, shift reports, and operational/stoppage data, and handling these in a structured and analytical manner to contribute to stable and safe production.
There is great energy and commitment within the workforce that you are expected to lead with visibility, clarity, and courage.
Key tasks:
- Conduct systematic work environment management.
- Engage and develop employees.
- Lead and manage production.
- Analyze production data and develop the operation based on the analyses.
- Collaborate with maintenance, technology, and other support functions.

Your profile
You are a confident leader who is passionate about developing operations and employees. You possess strong communication skills and collaborate cross-functionally to achieve the best results. We prefer that you have a relevant academic degree or equivalent work experience. Previous managerial experience in industrial production is highly meritorious, as is knowledge of LEAN and its tools. You are proficient in English, both spoken and written. We expect you to have good computer skills in MS Office and preferably experience with IA and Movex.
