About this role
Ref: 20252468
We are looking for three section managers for the evening shift who are ready to take on an exciting and challenging leadership role. This is a new position within our department aimed at strengthening the management, governance, and support of our evening staff. It is part of our efforts to improve the conditions for our managers. Katrinetorp encompasses a large area in Malmö, from Möllevångstorget to Oxie.
We are a management team consisting of 14 section managers and one unit manager working closely together. We value a trust-based working approach and prioritize solving problems collaboratively rather than alone. Within our group, we are organized into three resource areas. This means that you and your four closest colleagues in the resource area will cooperate closely on personnel, resource management, and operations. We value good collaboration throughout the entire unit.
You will be scheduled for both day and evening shifts, with the majority of work occurring in the evening until 11:00 PM.
Davor, your future unit manager, describes our work in the management team as follows: "We are a versatile management group, which benefits our efforts to develop our operations. We don’t all need to think the same. It is our diverse perspectives that make us stronger together."
We offer you:
• A real leadership role
• Leadership development in the form of both training and challenging tasks
• A solid introduction
• Direct impact on your employees
Responsibilities
As a section manager, you will have a central role with a broad range of responsibilities covering multiple areas, including goals, finances, personnel, quality, and results. Your primary task will be to lead, govern, and coordinate your operations effectively to ensure our success and development. You will be the operational manager guiding and structuring the work together with your team.
In addition, you will be responsible for handling personnel-related issues such as salary setting, working environment, recruitment, and competency development. Together with our management team, you will address the challenges arising within municipal elder care, focusing on meeting the needs of our elderly citizens in a sustainable manner. You will also represent the management team in collaborative forums with trade unions.
Your work will be varied, and you will need to manage different situations that require swift and well-founded decisions. This role offers a dynamic work environment where your ability to act effectively will be crucial to your success.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has:
• An academic degree of at least 180 credits, or other education combined with at least 8 years of management experience that the employer considers relevant
• Experience working as a manager
• Experience working with digital tools
• Good command of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form
It is advantageous if you have:
• Management and/or leadership training
• Work experience from elder care
• Experience working in a politically governed organization
• Knowledge of public operations
Personal qualities:
We are looking for someone who is secure, present, and clear in their leadership – you create trust, structure, and engagement in everyday life. By providing others with the right conditions, motivating and coordinating, you build strong teams working towards common goals. You have a stable foundation within yourself and possess good self-awareness. You see connections and relationships clearly and maintain calm even when the pace is high or situations are challenging.
Communication is direct, respectful, and clear. You ensure that messages are received, that expectations are clear, and that work is followed up in a way that provides safety and direction. You relate to others with sensitivity and create trusting collaborations, picking up signals in everyday life and acting to solve challenges constructively.
As a manager, you have a clear goal focus and ensure that both the operations and employees move forward. You have the ability to prioritize, rethink when necessary, and maintain balance between long-term development and what needs to function in the here and now.
