About the job
As a section manager, you create the conditions for active employee participation by exercising close leadership. You have responsibility for operations, personnel, budget, and working environment for your section. As a member of the unit’s management team, you are responsible for leading and developing the unit together with your colleagues. You collaborate both within and outside the authority to achieve results and create value for our customers. In the upcoming year, we are preparing for a new bankruptcy procedure that will take effect on July 1, 2026. This means that our mission will expand, and we will take on several tasks from the country’s courts.
As the section manager of the Northern Bankruptcy Supervision Section, you will lead approximately 18 employees. The employees, who are lawyers, economists, and caseworkers, are based in Sundbyberg, Gävle, and Umeå. The section is new and under construction within a partially new organization. Therefore, you will have the opportunity to help build and manage cooperation both within your own section and with other sections.
As section manager, you will be placed at the Kronofogden office in Sundbyberg. Our headquarters in Sundbyberg has about 600 employees and is located in pleasant and modern premises with flexible workplaces.
You are expected to exercise close leadership even when you and your employees work in different locations.
Everyone working at Kronofogden contributes to the fight against crime. Your team’s tasks include identifying and preventing attempts at criminal activity, as well as informing other authorities of suspected crimes.
About you

Your qualifications:
- A degree in law (270 higher education credits/180 ECTS)
- Several years of current and relevant work experience from courts, bankruptcy administration, or supervisory work.
It is desirable that you have relevant managerial experience with both operational and personnel responsibility. Relevant experience corresponds to within the last three years.

Good to know
The employment is permanent and starts with a six-month probationary period. You will be employed as a caseworker and receive a managerial appointment for four years. If you are already employed at Kronofogden, you will remain in your base position during the appointment period. Travel as part of the job may occur. Kronofogden offers the possibility of remote work by agreement with the employer.
Working for the government means adhering to the state value framework. There are also specific requirements regarding judgment, security awareness, and adherence to applicable laws. We will ask questions during the interview about any previous criminal activity and deficiencies in previous employment. For final candidates, these questions will also be asked of references. We will also obtain information about debts registered with Kronofogden, bankruptcies, and business prohibitions. Any information obtained will be considered in the overall assessment of your suitability for the position.
An employment offer with us may entail placement in a security class. A security screening with a background check in accordance with the Security Protection Act (2018:585) may therefore be conducted prior to the employment decision.
