Section Manager for Design & Development, Aerospace Systems

Your Role We are looking for a curious and engaged Section Manager to join our team within the Product Unit T-7, part of Aerospace Systems at Saab Aeronautics. Here, we work on the development and manufacturing of Boeing-Saab's T-7A, the US Air Force's new training aircraft. The operation is currently in an expansion phase with increasing deliveries from our factory in West Lafayette, Indiana. As the Section Manager for Design & Development, you will combine technology, leadership, and development in an international environment. You will be operationally responsible for a team of ten employees in design, structural integrity, and technical MRB, collaborating closely with other parts of PU T-7 and our production unit in the USA. You will play a vital role in the daily communication between these teams. The role includes both personnel and operational responsibilities. You will lead and follow up on assignments, prioritize resources, and ensure high-quality deliveries. You will also drive continuous improvements in working methods, processes, and competencies, and be responsible for the work environment and long-term employee development. As part of the management team of PU T-7, you will contribute to the development of the operation and shared leadership. Here, you will have the opportunity to influence and work with advanced technology in a context where collaboration, quality, and engagement are central. An important part of the job is also to look ahead and design plans for how we will develop the T-7 as a product in the future. Your Profile You have a clear interest in both technology and leadership and enjoy combining operational responsibility with strategic issues. We believe you have: * A technical education (Master's or Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent) * Experience in leading operations, for example as a line manager, project manager, or team leader * Experience working with product development and/or production support, preferably within the aerospace sector * The ability to create structure, clarity, and engagement within the team * A humble and collaborative working style where you contribute to the whole and are eager to share knowledge You appreciate solving problems together with others, find it easy to collaborate internationally, and thrive in an environment where your leadership makes a real difference. The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable security protection regulations.
