About the Role
This role is well-suited for someone who enjoys working closely with both patients and colleagues, and who wants to see the results of their leadership in everyday life. As the section chief, you will be a central part of the management team for the department of surgery. You will be part of the management group for the department and report to the department manager. You will lead the orthopedic section with a focus on creating a sustainable and stimulating work environment where employees feel involved and develop professionally. You will have personnel responsibility for a team of approximately 8–14 orthopedic surgeons and work closely with other managers, coordinators, and surgery management. Your assignment includes overseeing all aspects from planning and staffing to quality, competence supply, and development work.
The position combines clinical work (around 50%) with strategic leadership (50%). This allows you to remain an active clinician while also having the opportunity to influence the direction and future of the organization. The clinical assignment includes on-call duties during the day for the emergency department, assessing simpler trauma cases and consulting within the hospital. The managerial appointment also includes medical responsibility (MAL), unless otherwise decided.
Your Mission
As section chief, you will lead the development of orthopedics in line with our common goals for quality, production, and finance. You will contribute to creating clear working methods, stimulate participation, and ensure that resources are utilized optimally. You will work closely with your colleagues to strengthen the team's competence and well-being and to ensure that patient flows work smoothly from reception and surgery to rehabilitation. In your clinical work, you will participate in the everyday operations of orthopedics, preferably focusing on prosthetic or foot surgery.
We Are Looking for Someone Who
We are looking for a specialist physician in orthopedics who wants to combine clinical work with a developing leadership role. You may already have experience as a manager, or you might be ready to take the next step and develop your leadership skills with us. Experience in prosthetic surgery or a related field is advantageous.
