About this role

For the tenth time, Scania is launching its popular I-Talent Program! The I-Talent Program at Scania is an inspiring six-month journey designed for newly graduated IT students with a passion for innovation and sustainability. You’ll gain hands-on experience in a specialized IT role, access to training, and the opportunity to collaborate with teams across IT, sales, marketing, and research and development (R&D). The program not only strengthens technical skills but also develops soft skills within a supportive network – all to prepare participants to contribute to Scania’s goal: driving the shift toward a sustainable transport system. If you're graduating in spring 2026 or have a maximum of two years of work experience in IT, this program is for you! ABOUT THE POSITION Are you passionate about Linux, programming, and cutting-edge infrastructure? Join Scania’s Infrastructure Department (IU) and become part of a newly formed and growing team that plays a key role in enabling Scania R&D’s simulation community. We provide high-performance computing (HPC) capacity to simulation engineers, an area that is becoming increasingly crucial for future technology development. Our mission is to deliver Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) through large-scale, complex HPC clusters. Because our customers' needs are constantly evolving, you will not only develop and improve existing systems, but you will also help shape entirely new capabilities and infrastructure solutions. This is a chance to work close to the hardware, deep in Linux environments, and contribute to infrastructure that truly matters. RESPONSIBILITIES In this role, you’ll be part of a team that develops, maintains, and evolves the software layer of our HPC clusters. Your work will focus on: - Application development - Enabling new infrastructure and platform capabilities - Modern DevOps practices Your responsibilities include: - Developing and maintaining the software stack - Automating infrastructure in large-scale Linux environments - Solving complex technical challenges and troubleshooting issues - Working with data, monitoring, and introducing modern DevOps methodologies - Actively contributing to the team’s ways of working, processes, and delivery methods This is hands-on engineering work with real impact, perfect if you love problem-solving and want to grow your technical skills quickly. WE ARE LOOKING FOR YOU WHO - Holds a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering Physics, or similar fields - Is a skilled programmer with experience in Python and strong Linux knowledge - Has strong English skills (spoken and written); most of the team speaks Swedish - Is graduating in spring 2026, or has up to 2 years of work experience when the program starts in September 2026 It is meritorious if you have: - A strong interest in modern infrastructure, platforms, and systems engineering - Understanding of platform technologies and distributed systems - Completed a course in statistics (data science is also valuable) - Curiosity about business aspects and interest in monitoring/data insights - Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible - Motivation driven by complex technical problem-solving To succeed in the role, your personal skills are: - Being helpful and collaborative - Good communication skills - A curious mindset and willingness to learn Our recruitment process This recruitment process is handled by Academic Work, and it is our client’s wish that all questions regarding the position are directed to Academic Work.
