About this role

The Swedish Agency for Health Technology Assessment and Assessment of Social Services (SBU) is a knowledge agency under the Ministry of Social Affairs with the mandate to conduct scientific evaluations of methods in healthcare, including dental care. SBU also has the task of performing scientific assessments of interventions in social services and support services under the Act Concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments (LSS). At SBU, collaboration is the foundation for a positive work environment and the core of daily operations and the quality of our products. The agency has approximately 100 employees. SBU is growing and has reorganized its operations. The new organization took effect on September 1, 2025. The newly established unit for Interventions for Individuals, Families, and Society (IFS) is now seeking a Project Manager. Unit Description The unit consists of 10 employees and is placed under the social services department, led by a department head, with daily operations managed by a unit manager. The unit works with both government assignments and self-initiated projects within the social services area. We evaluate interventions for children and youth, individuals in vulnerable situations, and interventions to strengthen family and parenting. We also develop knowledge about implementation and phasing out, policy and organizational changes, and community-based interventions. The unit's work includes conveying target group-adapted knowledge in our field through various channels. Job Responsibilities As a Project Manager at SBU, you will lead the work of developing knowledge compilations and other scientifically based materials that respond to current needs in social services and other agencies. You will work in cross-professional teams with other project managers, information specialists, and health economists, collaborating with researchers, other agencies, interest organizations, and professionals. Job responsibilities also include internal and external collaboration, working on internal development projects and training, as well as communicating and making research results accessible. You will be supported by colleagues, external experts, and various support functions such as SBU's scientific council, quality group, and methodological support. Specific tasks include: • Planning and implementing projects according to SBU's method • Quality assurance through SBU's internal processes and external experts • Coordinating analyses, health economics, and ethical aspects • Making research results accessible and communicating them via reports, summaries, presentations, and web platforms Qualifications • PhD in a relevant area for the unit, such as social work, psychology, sociology, or a social science direction we deem relevant for the position • Work experience in leading complex projects with multiple stakeholders • Excellent Swedish and English skills, both spoken and written Preferred Qualifications • Work experience in knowledge-based work in a government agency • Knowledge of government governance and social service organization • Experience with systematic reviews or evidence-based development work • Good knowledge of implementation research Personal Characteristics You should have excellent communication skills, the ability to establish trustworthy contacts, and strong pedagogical abilities.
