About the Workplace
The Resident Services department of the Municipal Administration is responsible for Ale municipality's culture and leisure activities and the municipality's contact center.
Approximately 60 people work in the department.
The Coordinator position is part of the Culture and Leisure Development unit. Our unit project manages cultural events for all ages, is responsible for the municipality's art and cultural heritage, and handles association support for local associations and study organizations. The unit is also responsible for the Leisure Bank, event support (stage, sound, and lighting technology), and internal services within the culture and leisure area.
Your workplace will be located in Ale Cultural Space in Nödinge, a creative environment where we collectively develop the municipality's cultural and leisure life.
Job Responsibilities

As a Coordinator, you have a key role in delivering stage and event technical solutions – in close collaboration with colleagues, other units, associations, and the independent cultural scene. You are responsible for ensuring assignments are completed according to established technical specifications, primarily in Ale Cultural Space but also at other locations in the municipality where cultural and leisure events are held.
In this role, you will closely collaborate with cultural coordinators and culture school pedagogues in planning event technology and coordinate work with external technical teams for temporary productions. You have overall responsibility for managing and developing stage and event technology in the theater at Ale Cultural Space and ensuring the venue is safe, functional, and ready for booked events. You have a coordinating role in receiving theater bookings. As a Coordinator, you will plan, coordinate, and work operatively with sound and stage technology for various events – during daytime, evenings, and weekends.
As a Coordinator, you are responsible for the technical entirety of Ale Cultural Space. Your tasks include, among others:
- Working operatively as sound, light, and conference technician for various types of events
- Coordinating bookings in the Ale Cultural Space theater
- Responsible for stage, sound, light, video, and rigging technology, including ongoing maintenance and equipment purchases
- Planning, implementing, and following up on technical setup and takedown before and after events
- Receiving and coordinating stage technical personnel for visiting productions
- For larger events, hiring and managing temporarily employed technical personnel (such as sound and light technicians) and the unit's culture and leisure hosts
- Assisting the unit manager with issues related to fire protection and safety in the Ale Cultural Space theater
If needed, culture and leisure host tasks may also be part of the role. This includes:
- Responsible for handling visitors through ticket management, service, and security
- Preparing venues and managing practical aspects of events
- Conference technology
- Performing transports for the operation
Qualifications
We are seeking someone with education in stage technology (sound and light technology) or equivalent professional experience that the employer deems equivalent. A B driver's license is required.
You have a strong interest in stage and event technology and are passionate about creating meaningful cultural experiences. As a person, you are self-driven, responsible, and structured, with the ability to plan and execute your work efficiently.
You thrive in independent work that simultaneously involves close collaboration with colleagues and partners. You have a service-oriented and solution-focused approach and can both lead and be part of a team.
Great importance will be placed on personal suitability.
Additional Information
This is a permanent position that includes work on evenings and weekends. You need to be flexible and prepared to be scheduled based on the events the unit conducts. Start date is January 1st or by agreement.
