Your Role with Us
You will work on the coordination and development of the compulsory school’s PRAO (work experience) in collaboration with the administration’s responsible person for the coordination and development of study and career guidance within both compulsory and upper secondary schools. Your responsibilities will include developing, planning, implementing, and following up on activities related to the compulsory school’s PRAO. The majority of your work will focus on finding work experience placements for students in compulsory school, ensuring that adequate risk assessments are conducted, and that placements are allocated within the framework of the decided model/system. You will disseminate information, maintain cohesion, and streamline the PRAO process. Your role includes collaboration with other career counselors, principals, and educators, but primarily you will be the administration's face and point of contact with employers across various sectors. Therefore, your responsibilities will also include visiting employers, staffing the PRAO phone line, and monitoring PRAO emails. You will work on:
- Staying updated on the governing documents that regulate PRAO
- Ensuring that the administration’s internal documents regarding PRAO are up to date
- Coordinating the practical work related to the setup of the compulsory school’s PRAO
- Participating in contexts related to PRAO
- Quality assuring and developing the administration's work concerning PRAO
Many of these tasks will be carried out in collaboration with the administration’s coordinator of career counselors.
Who Are We Looking For?
We are looking for candidates who have a degree in study and career guidance (180 credits) and are well acquainted with the Education Act and governing documents that regulate PRAO. We want you to have experience working as a career counselor and the ability to promote and create interesting and attractive work experience placements.
We seek someone with experience in coordination and project management. You are development-oriented with the ability to drive improvement work based on identified needs. Naturally, you can set goals and achieve good results, as well as have experience in following up, analyzing results, and drawing conclusions. You possess analytical skills with a long-term and holistic perspective.
The role requires good collaboration skills and the ability to engage, inspire, and stimulate employees. You have strong communication skills—both verbal and written—and a good ability to build relationships, both internally and externally, characterized by professionalism, respect, and trust. We expect you to have good IT skills and the ability to use digital tools as instruments for searching for information, planning, communicating, presenting, as well as documenting and reporting.
