Job Responsibilities
As a Coordinating Environmental Specialist, you will manage environmental issues in both large and small projects. You will support the project manager and guide the project organization to ensure that the Swedish Transport Administration sets correct and relevant environmental requirements, contributes to environmental and health goals, and achieves good environmental adaptation. The work involves identifying and assessing environmental aspects in projects and monitoring environmental work through all project stages, from early planning to construction phase. This may include ensuring the preparation of documents for notifications and permit applications, participating in consultancy and contractor procurement, and conducting reception checks of consultants' and contractors' deliveries.
You will participate in meetings, collaborate, and maintain contacts with project management, colleagues, other specialists, consultants, contractors, and authorities. You will work on multiple projects simultaneously. You will become part of a national environmental unit with approximately 145 environmental specialists within the Investment area of the Technology and Environment department. This offers you significant opportunities for collaboration, support from other environmental specialists, and professional development and experience exchange within the organization - which we see as a major strength.
You will belong to a section of approximately 20 employees located in Jönköping, Linköping, Norrköping, Nyköping, and Stockholm, supporting both large and investment projects. The section includes both subject specialists and coordinating environmental specialists.

You are a structured and analytical individual with the ability to see the overall picture and connections in complex issues. You can independently structure your work and take responsibility for advancing your tasks while remaining flexible and able to reprioritize when required. You enjoy both group and independent work, with a coordinating and supportive role. The role of coordinating specialist involves a leadership position with numerous contact points, both internally and externally. You easily and enjoy coordinating groups and collaborating with colleagues, suppliers, and other stakeholders. You communicate clearly and pedagogically, adapting your communication to the recipient.
You are motivated by active employee participation, deliberately taking responsibility for your tasks while being attentive to how you are part of and contribute to the whole by collaborating with others.
Required Qualifications:
• University degree of at least 180 ECTS credits in environmental studies with technical or scientific orientation, or equivalent education with relevant professional experience
• Several years of current and relevant professional experience in environmental areas, particularly related to environmental legislation
• Valid driver's license
• Excellent Swedish language skills (spoken and written)
