The Röhsska Museum manages a unique collection of approximately 50,000 objects in design, craft, and fashion. Most items are older Swedish and European crafts, but the museum also has Greek and Roman antiquities, as well as materials from Japan and China. Current acquisition focus is on contemporary design. Through innovative and socially relevant exhibitions, programs, and educational activities, we actively work to make design accessible and relevant to a broad audience.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where history meets the present. Your expertise and experience will be crucial in inventorying and digitalizing collections in preparation for the upcoming move to new storage facilities.

You will have contacts with other museums and cultural institutions, both nationally and internationally. You will actively participate in the museum's public work through guided tours, lectures, and panel discussions. You will promote and enable knowledge building through active collection management, acquisitions, and exhibition production. You will respond to external inquiries about the collections, collaborate with researchers, and contribute to knowledge building in public activities and on social media.
You will develop text materials for exhibition productions and can also curate, plan, and project manage public collection displays and collection exhibitions in close collaboration with the museum's other functions. The role includes responsibility for project budgets, financial planning, purchases, reporting, and documentation. Together with colleagues and your manager, you will work on long-term and secure collection management, with the next few years involving an active role in planning and packing objects for relocation to new storage facilities. The Collection Curator role includes working with the museum's object database, loans, and seeking external financing with partners for various collection projects.

We are seeking someone who is responsible and solution-oriented and is accustomed to project management and organizing work. You have the ability to independently drive matters while enjoying the role of a collaborative team partner. Your collaborative approach and ability to develop and maintain good relationships are crucial as you will represent the museum and collaborate with many actors. Your strong communication skills will be expressed in the museum's programs, guided tours, and text production for exhibitions, such as exhibition texts, catalogs, websites, and social media.
