About this role

**About the Position** We are currently seeking a certified teacher to teach courses in sociology, international relations, ethnicity and cultural encounters, geography, human environments, and youth studies. We are looking for a relational and neurodiversity-aware educator who wants to work with young people and is driven by the desire to help them grow and develop. You will be part of a collaborative team. There is a high level of openness among teachers, and we share a common responsibility for ensuring that all students succeed. The position includes mentorship responsibilities. Our schools focus on learning and development in shared areas of emphasis. These areas fall under three headings: pedagogy, health, and community engagement. We develop practices that, according to scientific research and proven experience, positively impact the learning environment, promote students' health, and prepare our students to engage with the world with a strong sense of community involvement. Lessons follow a structured format with clear goals and purposes and employ varied teaching methods. We also have a common assessment model. Our schools operate on a strong value foundation aimed at societal improvement and equality. Therefore, it is important that you share our values. Your responsibilities will include tasks related to the teaching role such as instruction, planning, and assessment. In addition to subject-specific tasks, you will also serve as a mentor for a class. **Qualifications** Primarily, we are looking for an experienced and certified upper secondary school teacher who is well-acquainted with the curriculum and governing documents for upper secondary education. In addition to your subject expertise, we value your commitment, pedagogical skills, and ability to inspire and engage students. We appreciate your ability to meet students based on their knowledge and needs. Experience with neurodiversity is an advantage. It is essential that you are relational and see each student as an individual. You are curious and actively work to ensure that each student develops as far as possible based on their circumstances. It is important to us that you are motivated to challenge yourself, your colleagues, and your students to contribute to your own development as well as that of the school and its students. **Conditions** Employment Type: Temporary position Scope: 100% Start Date: January 2026 Contact: [email protected] We strive for a workplace characterized by equality, gender equity, and diversity. Prior to employment, we always request a police record extract. You can order the form from the police's website. Please order the extract in advance as there may be processing time involved. In case of redundancy within the Stadsmissionen School Foundation, the advertised position will primarily be offered to employees within the foundation. Selection will be ongoing, and the position may be filled before the application period has ended. We have made our choices regarding advertising channels and kindly decline all offers of advertising and recruitment assistance in connection with this advertisement. The Stadsmissionen School Foundation is a non-profit organization that operates upper secondary education at Grillska Gymnasiet and Grillska's adapted upper secondary school, as well as adult education at Stadsmissionens Yrkeshögskola. With approximately 3,000 students, we are one of Sweden's largest non-profit school operators. Being non-profit means that we are not driven by any other interests; our vision is a school for a more humane society. The schools are independent schools operated in foundation form, which means there is no owner taking profits. Any surplus goes towards the development of the operations. The foundation's founder, Stockholm City Mission, has been providing education since 1857, and we share the same fundamental, humane view of humanity and value foundation. Through education, we can prevent social exclusion and strengthen individuals' belief in themselves and their abilities, working towards our vision of a school for a more humane society.
