Job Description: Communications and Information Systems Commander (C SIS)

The Communications Officer functionally leads the battalion's command system function, consisting of civilian system engineers, the unit's deputy IT manager, and communications officers. We are recruiting a Communications and Information Systems Commander (C SIS) for the battalion staff.
About the Unit
The 161st Air Control and Air Surveillance Battalion operates 24/7 throughout the year to monitor and defend Swedish airspace by producing and distributing authorized air situations, directing air forces, and coordinating air operations. The battalion also has the mobile capability to establish and regroup radio and radar stations using its own resources.
Main Responsibilities
The position involves functional leadership in communications and IT and serving as the battalion's command systems manager. The C SIS will collaborate with superior and lateral function managers and other units within the area of responsibility. You will also support the staff chief regarding training within the area of responsibility, be responsible for experience management within the function, and conduct follow-up of communication services and signal protection at the battalion. The position additionally involves responsibility for administering the battalion's needs and allocation regarding telephony and command support systems. The C SIS ensures maintenance of the Air Control Battalion's command support systems and telecommunications infrastructure at the battalion's locations.
