We are now seeking a Security and Fire Coordinator for our Property and Service Department – a role for you who want to develop and coordinate efforts related to physical security and fire protection at the university, contributing to a safe, sustainable, and secure university environment for students, employees, and visitors. We place great importance on health and well-being and therefore offer flexible working hours, the possibility of remote work, and two hours of wellness activities per week. **About the Role** As a Security and Fire Coordinator, you will play a central role in strengthening the university's physical security and fire protection. The focus is on security, where you will be responsible for managing, setting requirements for, and developing the university's security systems, routines, and working methods. You will work both strategically, by developing governance and processes, and operationally, through advisory services, incident management, and training initiatives. You will collaborate closely with the Security Manager, local planners, and other support functions, as well as with external actors such as the fire service, police, and security providers. **Examples of Responsibilities** - Manage and develop the university's locking, alarm, and access systems (e.g., ASSA Clic, ARX, and access cards). - Act as a requirements setter and purchaser for the procurement of security services, security systems, and fire protection solutions. - Lead and organize fire protection rounds, training sessions, and fire drills. - Coordinate and order security technical measures in construction and local projects. - Provide advice and support in physical technical security, access management, and personal safety. - Develop routines, governing documents, and training materials within the security area. - Follow up and analyze security incidents and contribute to continuous improvements. **Qualifications** **Requirements** - Relevant higher education in security, risk management, fire safety, civil protection, or equivalent competencies that we assess as comparable. - Several years of experience in security work within larger organizations, preferably in the public sector or academic environment. - Good knowledge of physical security, including locking, alarm, access, and surveillance systems. - Experience in systematic fire protection work (SBA). - Ability to work both strategically and operationally, as well as lead development work within security and fire protection. - Good communication skills in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing. **Meritorious** - Advanced training in security protection, physical security, crisis and continuity management, or systematic fire protection work. - Experience in procurement and requirement setting for security technical systems. - Knowledge of building fire protection and fire technical installations. - Experience collaborating with authorities such as the Police Authority, MSB, or the Fire Service. **Personal Attributes** You are analytical, structured, and communicative with the ability to build trust and collaborate broadly. You have integrity, good judgment, and a genuine interest in security and fire protection issues. You thrive on driving development, creating order and clarity, and seeing the big picture in complex environments. Personal attributes will be given significant weight. **Scope and Location** The position is a permanent full-time employment based in Luleå. A probationary period may apply. Start date is by agreement.
