The position of Safety and Preparedness Coordinator is located in the Operations Support Division, where you, along with your colleagues in the unit, work as a supportive function for the Health and Social Care Department's operations.
Job Responsibilities
As a Safety and Preparedness Coordinator, you will oversee the important safety work within the Health and Social Care Department. There are equivalent roles in other departments within the municipality with whom you can collaborate, but for the Health and Social Care Department, you are the person who manages issues related to safety and preparedness. You will work closely with the Security and Safety Department in Norrköping Municipality and operate in both the operational and strategic areas. You will also collaborate closely with managers and other support functions in the department, as well as with external parties such as the police and volunteer organizations.
You will actively work on planning, implementation, and documentation, where you have experience working with risk and vulnerability analyses, continuity plans, and other overarching plans and strategies. You will be part of the department's crisis management team, where you are expected to contribute knowledge and lead other staff in the area where you have specialist expertise.
The role will involve working on issues related to security work, protective security, crisis preparedness, and other related preparedness and safety tasks. Part of the job is to monitor legal requirements and keep yourself and the organization updated on the situation locally, nationally, and internationally.
In this role, you will work to identify, minimize, and prevent risks within the scope of the Health and Social Care Department's responsibilities.
Furthermore, you will be responsible for educating, raising awareness, and training employees in safety and preparedness-related issues, such as threats and violence and continuity management. You will also guide staff based on emerging situations. This is a varied role that suits you if you enjoy having a flexible work environment where no day is the same.
Who are you?
We are looking for someone with post-secondary education focused on safety work and/or crisis preparedness, such as vocational training in the field, university education, police training, or other education deemed equivalent by the employer.
You have previous experience working in the field of safety and preparedness, where you have gathered essential experiences that will be beneficial in this role. Your communication skills are one of your strengths, facilitating the work of producing documentation and writing risk and vulnerability analyses, which we hope you have done in previous assignments. Your knowledge of safety work is very good, and you are well updated in the field. If you have also worked in health and social care, we see this as a positive aspect as it creates a good understanding of the context in which you will work.
We place great importance on your personal qualities, where social, analytical, and pedagogical abilities are particularly desirable. You are a confident and stable person who identifies needs and meets people where they are. You have the ability to make well-balanced decisions based on prevailing conditions and available information. You are flexible and can easily shift your focus when the work requires it.
You enjoy working in a team-based environment, but you also possess the drive to work purposefully on your own. You find it easy to collaborate with others and are eager to initiate new professional relationships and networks both within and outside the municipal organization. Your communication skills are strong, allowing you to adapt your communication to the audience, both in speech and writing.
