About this role

Are you a law student looking to gain practical experience in court work? Are you considering a future within the legal system? Södertörn District Court Södertörn District Court is an open, modern, and development-oriented workplace with dedicated employees. We are one of the largest district courts in the country, employing around 250 staff members. The court handles a large number of criminal cases, civil disputes, and court matters. The court consists of six adjudicating departments, an administrative department, and a support unit. We work in modern facilities in Flemingsberg, Huddinge, close to the commuter train station. Our mission is to contribute to legal certainty in a democratic and law-abiding society every day. The Role The role of a summer clerk largely corresponds to the tasks performed by newly hired clerks at the court. You will observe how practical court work is conducted and gain valuable insight into the daily operations of the court, as well as general training in legal analysis and methodology. You will primarily be responsible for taking minutes during both criminal and civil hearings, potentially drafting judgment proposals, conducting legal research, and, to some extent, preparing cases and matters. The position may also include other tasks that arise at the court. Your employment will begin with an introduction that includes our case management system. The position is full-time during the period of weeks 24–29 in the summer of 2026. Qualifications We are looking for candidates who are studying law and have completed semester 6, with at least one semester remaining after the employment period. You must have completed criminal law and procedural law by the start of the summer internship. You should have good grades from completed parts of your law studies, as well as excellent proficiency in the Swedish language, both spoken and written. Experience in public sector work may be advantageous. To thrive with us, you should be able to collaborate easily with others. You should be responsible, meticulous, service-oriented, and possess strong analytical skills and good judgment. You should also be proficient in computer use.
