GKN Aerospace in Hallstahammar is now seeking robot operators for their shell department, which is part of the casting process for superalloys. The casting of gas turbine components in nickel and cobalt-based alloys takes place under high vacuum at their facility.
Your Responsibilities
You will primarily, together with a team, be responsible for monitoring and operating a process robot that builds ceramic molds by dipping wax parts into ceramic liquid. The work is physical and varies between manual tasks, machine monitoring, and basic system management.
Tasks that may be included in the role are:
• Monitoring the robot cell
• Managing the input and output of products in the robot cell
• Checking and refilling sand, liquids, and dipping tanks to maintain production flow
• Material handling and heavy lifting related to refilling and production
• Ongoing time reporting and registration in the company's business system.
The position operates on a 2-shift schedule where you will work the following hours during respective weeks:
• Morning: 06:00–14:00 (Monday–Thursday), 06:00–12:00 (Friday)
• Afternoon: 14:00–22:00 (Monday–Thursday), 12:00–18:00 (Friday)
Your Profile
We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in machines, technology, and mechanics. You easily take in instructions and communicate well in Swedish, both orally and in writing. You are flexible and enjoy varied tasks and adapting to the needs of the business. We also see that you are proactive and driven to contribute to the development of the operations forward.
To succeed in the role, we would like you to have experience from heavy industry, operator roles, or similar. We also wish for you to have:
• Complete high school diploma
• B driver's license
• Forklift license (alternatively the possibility to train if needed)
• Ability to work 2-shift
Education in industrial technology, and experience with robots or CNC machines are advantageous.
The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to current regulations for security protection. For positions where GKN's customer has requirements for security classification, this may, if applicable, entail a requirement for certain citizenship.
