About the Job
Your responsibilities as an auditor will involve investigating cases related to excise taxes and other types of taxation through audits or in-depth reviews.
You will work on qualified investigations and drive your cases both independently and in collaboration with others. You are expected to contribute to a positive work climate and foster good relationships with internal and external partners. The nature of the investigations varies between audits and inquiries conducted from the office. The field of excise taxes is complex and challenging, with regular legislative changes, making this role suitable for those who seek variety and are driven by information gathering. You will have flexible working hours, and it is essential for us that you maintain a balance between work and leisure.
The Corporate Taxation Department has a virtual organization. Your manager and colleagues may be located in various places across the country, and we communicate with each other using a range of technical tools. Therefore, it is important that you are comfortable and willing to communicate and collaborate in a virtual environment.
You will belong to Section 8 in Unit 7 of the Corporate Taxation Department, with placements in Gothenburg, Örebro, Sundbyberg, or Malmö. Our section consists of 17 colleagues.
About You
To perform well and thrive with us at the Swedish Tax Agency, you need to be receptive, think creatively, and take responsibility. Good judgment and a strong understanding of legal security and safety are crucial in this role. You should also embody our employee policy.
In this position, you should:
- Have strong analytical skills and the ability to identify key issues in extensive materials
- Possess strong decision-making skills and the ability to drive your cases forward
- Communicate effectively and simply both verbally and in writing
- Have the ability to cooperate with others to achieve organizational goals and objectives
- Be able to analyze information flows, identify connections, and make decisions.
Additionally, you should have:
- A higher education degree of at least 180 higher education credits (120 points) in law or economics
- Several years of relevant and current work experience in auditing from a government agency or an auditing firm.
Preferably, you will have relevant and recent work experience from the Swedish Tax Agency.
Good to Know
The employment is permanent and may begin with a six-month probation period.
A position with us may require placement in a security class. A security review with a background check according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) may therefore be conducted prior to the hiring decision. For some of our security-classified tasks, Swedish citizenship is required.
