About this role
We are seeking a dedicated and competent resource educator who wants to support, motivate, and encourage students with neuropsychiatric diagnoses and intellectual disabilities in both their academic work and social situations. You will participate in the implementation of teaching and support students during breaks and in schedule-breaking activities. Close collaboration with teachers is essential to create an effective and supportive learning environment. You will also work in after-school care and KTT according to the curriculum goals and individual implementation plans.
Your Background
To thrive with us, we believe you are driven and curious, with a strong desire to continue developing. You view challenges as opportunities rather than problems and have a deep commitment to the students. You also believe in every student's right to develop as far as possible. We expect you to have an interest in building good relationships with both students and guardians to best meet the students in their daily lives. We prefer candidates with experience working with children and youth with neuropsychiatric diagnoses and intellectual disabilities, as well as knowledge of low-arousal approaches and other methods that support students' learning and social development.
Expectations
We value personal competence and are looking for someone who is independent, driven, and flexible with a solution-focused attitude. You should be curious with good collaboration skills and the ability to create and maintain relationships. It is important that you can be trustworthy and responsive to the students' needs.
The students have a social context in class, but most require one-on-one teaching for the majority of the school day. The class team works collaboratively and rotates among all students in the class. The work requires great flexibility, as the students have significant individual needs and varying conditions. Your tasks will include planning and implementing meaningful activities for the students during the school day. You will be responsible for supervision and safety throughout the day. You will actively participate in the students' goal achievement and in the work with schedule-breaking activities, as well as collaborate with guardians in consultation with mentors.
As a person, you are unpretentious and believe in collaboration. For you, it is important to have good and trusting relationships with management, colleagues, guardians, and students. You share our values of Progress, Together with Heart and Wisdom.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who wants to work as a resource educator and who has a high school diploma in either the Child and Recreation Program, Nursing Program, or assistant training through YH. We also prefer that you have good computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.
Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
