Högåsskolan is a preschool to 6th-grade school with approximately 490 students and 70 employees in the picturesque Knivsta, right next to the Gredelby Meadows nature reserve. Our proximity to nature while being centrally located with short distances to commuter trains to quickly reach Uppsala or Stockholm offers fantastic opportunities for various types of teaching variations, which we see as an important part of students' learning.
We have a maximum of 24 students per class, with 3 classes in each grade level.
The school is centrally located in Knivsta and was inaugurated in 2015.
At Högåsskolan, we work to meet each student at their level, where collaboration, participation, and shared responsibility permeate the teaching. We believe that all students can and want to learn if given the right conditions, and we strive to create an inclusive learning environment where everyone can speak up, develop, and be challenged at their own level.
TASKS
As a resource in the small group, you will work closely with the group's mentor and all teachers who teach the students to best support and simplify their daily life. We prefer candidates with documented experience of previously working as a resource, ideally with students in adapted primary school who are individually integrated. You will closely collaborate with special education teachers, guardians, mentors, and other teaching staff as well as the team.
You will support students and teachers during lesson implementation, work on students' social development, promote a safe and inclusive environment, and support students based on their needs.
Högåsskolan uses the Meitner learning platform and uses IT equipment as a natural part of teaching.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are seeking someone with documented experience of previously working as a resource, preferably with students in adapted primary school who are individually integrated. You are a problem-solver with the student in focus, who finds it easy to collaborate with other staff and guardians.
Personal suitability is of utmost importance in this assignment.
