About this role
At the Social Services Office, we have approximately 700 employees. We are currently in the midst of an exciting journey towards a more modern and easily accessible social service. Work and Support is one of the Social Services Office's four result areas, and here we are 180 people.
At the Unit for Work and Studies, work consultants, peer supporters, IPS method developers, as well as three group leaders and a business developer work together. The main mission is to provide individual support to our residents through evidence-based methods. The unit is not co-located and is situated at two nearby addresses.
Leadership in Södertälje
As a manager in Södertälje municipality, you create motivation and commitment to the mission among your employees. The Assignment
We are looking for someone with a clear, humble, and transparent leadership style. You are interested in working as a present manager responsible for developing and leading the unit. You are long-term in the decisions you make and stay updated on changes in the external environment that may affect our operations.
We are in the midst of a transition towards a more easily accessible and preventive social service. This autumn, work on changes in our methods based on the upcoming activity requirement has also begun. As a manager, one of your assignments is to take over and continue the implementation and change based on what has been decided. You have the will and ability to develop and create interventions that match citizens' needs and current legislation, doing so in collaboration with your management colleagues and together with the unit's employees.
Who are you?
As a manager of an executing unit, you need to have a certain understanding of how the authority-exercising units work and how legislation is applied. At the same time, you need to safeguard the methods used and contribute to their development.

Requirements
- Social work degree or other completed higher education at least at bachelor's level, which the employer deems equivalent
- At least three years of experience in a leadership role in a politically governed organization, preferably in municipal sector
- Very good ability to express oneself in writing in Swedish, including experience writing reports and analyses
Meritorious
- Management experience with personnel, budget, and work environment responsibilities
- Trained in Individual Placement and Support, Supported Employment, and/or Supported Education
- Experience initiating or driving collaboration across organizational boundaries

We Offer You
The office is centrally located in Södertälje, close to shops and public transportation. The position is a parental leave substitute until 2027-03-31 full-time (39 hours/week) with annual working hours.
