About this role

Norran is the leading news provider in northern Västerbotten. We are now seeking a reporter for a longer-term substitute position! One of our regular news reporters will be on leave. Therefore, we are looking for a substitute from January 19 to August 23. We cover several municipalities in northern Västerbotten, but this position is based in the newsroom in Skellefteå. You will be part of a wonderful, news-driven, and curious team that works at a fast pace and always aims to deliver the biggest and most interesting news stories. You will have the opportunity to be at the center of events and report on the hottest news through text, images, video, and audio, as well as create journalism that explains, guides, and evokes emotions. We have a creative environment where you, together with skilled colleagues, address socially important issues and hot topics. As a substitute with us, you will be part of the team from day one and contribute to creating journalism with significant local impact. We are looking for someone who: - Has or is studying journalism or a related field, or has equivalent work experience. - Has a passion for journalism and a desire to convey news that helps the audience in their daily lives. - Enjoys being the first to break a story and delivering news at a fast pace. - Thrives in a dynamic work environment where tasks may need to be reprioritized based on the news situation. - Is curious, willing to learn new things, and quick to adapt to change. - Has a good sense of language, can understand angles, and convey straightforward news in writing. - Has basic knowledge of photography and videography (with a mobile and/or DSLR camera). - Has skills in journalism such as interview techniques, research, information gathering, source criticism, and news packaging. The substitute position will involve working hours during the day, evenings, and weekends. A valid driver's license (B) is required as driving is part of the job.
