We are Currently Seeking an Engaged and Pedagogical Leader Who Wants to Continue Developing Svärtingehus School Together with Our Competent Colleagues and Curious Students! Here You Will Have the Opportunity to Lead a Strong and Ambitious Team in a School with High Quality, Good Structure, and a Clear Focus on Each Student's Learning.
Who Are We?
Svärtingehus School is located in Svärtinge, approximately 10 kilometers northwest of Norrköping. The school is a preschool through 6th-grade school with approximately 315 students distributed across 14 classes, with operations also including an after-school program for preschool through 6th grade.
Approximately 45 employees with various professional backgrounds work with us. The school is led by a principal, deputy principal, and team leaders in a management group. We work in grade-level teams and have a well-functioning student health team with a special education teacher, school nurse, and counselor. Additionally, we have both a safety group and a school administrator who contribute to structure and security in the organization.
A renovation of the school premises is currently underway and is expected to be completed in April. When the work is finished, students and staff will have access to a refreshed and more purpose-designed learning environment – something we are looking forward to!
At Svärtingehus School, we strive for each student to develop according to their conditions and become involved in their own learning. It is in the interaction between educator and student that quality and good relationships are created – and this permeates everything we do.
Your Responsibilities
As principal of Svärtingehus School, you will lead the operation with a focus on high quality, good goal achievement, and a secure learning environment. You are responsible for the school's pedagogical development, staff, work environment, and economy, working strategically and long-term to create the best possible conditions for students and employees.
You will closely collaborate with your deputy principal, student health team, management group, and school teams. Through trust, participation, and clear communication, you will create engagement and development in the organization.
You will be part of a professional management group within Norrköping Municipality, where you will regularly work on organizational development and quality issues. As a principal, you will have access to support and expertise in areas such as economics, personnel, legal matters, and facilities – all to ensure you have the best conditions to succeed in your assignment.
Who Are You?
We are seeking someone with a teaching degree or other pedagogical higher education and experience working in educational settings. You have previously worked as a principal or deputy principal and have good knowledge of school governance documents. Having completed or started the principal training program is meritorious, as is having completed a leadership training program.
As a leader, you are confident, stable, and have good self-awareness. You lead with trust and create conditions for others to succeed. You are accustomed to coaching, developing, and providing clear guidelines when needed. You have the ability to build good relationships, collaborate, and create an environment where both students and employees feel seen and involved.
You thrive in a role that combines strategic thinking with presence in daily work. You have organizational awareness, good structure, and a desire to contribute to the school's and municipality's shared goals.
