The Education Administration is one of Mjölby Municipality's six departments and is responsible for preschool, primary school, secondary school, adapted primary and secondary education, and adult education. Preschools Stjärnfallet, Sya, and Sågen have approximately 90 children. The preschools are located in Mantorp and Sya. In June 2026, Sågen will be phased out, with children and educators moving to the newly constructed Stjärnfallet preschool. You will work in close collaboration with other principals, special education teachers, and psychologists in Mjölby Municipality. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES As a preschool principal in Mjölby Municipality, you will lead, plan, organize, coordinate, and develop the pedagogical work in the operation based on established goals in national, municipal, and local steering documents. You are responsible for your unit's organization, systematic quality work, forms of child participation, resource allocation, official duties, collaboration with guardians, local regulations, and more. You will work on concrete daily operational issues while being aware of how they impact the organization's overall goal achievement. The preschools are engaged in a joint language development project aimed at providing each child with the conditions to complete a secondary education. In Mjölby Municipality's preschools, we work together with student health special education teachers and psychologists to create predictable preschool days. Predictability involves clarity and comprehensibility; making situations easy to understand. You will serve as an employer representative with personnel, budget, and work environment responsibilities. You will be part of a principal group that meets regularly to collaboratively drive Mjölby's preschools towards increased equivalence, high quality, and improved learning outcomes. Your role also includes reporting the unit's results to the Preschool Operations Manager. QUALIFICATIONS We are seeking candidates with a pedagogical university degree, with preschool teaching certification preferred. You should have experience in pedagogical work and leadership, with experience in a politically governed organization being advantageous. You should be able to combine pedagogical, personnel, and administrative matters from a holistic perspective. Additional qualifications include principal training, leadership education, and experience in development work/change management. A B driver's license is required. As a leader, you are clear, attentive, and create engagement and participation. You motivate and delegate work to achieve common goals. You have the ability to make quick and clear decisions both independently and collaboratively, and can lead, structure, organize, and motivate others while setting goals and direction for the operation.
