We are looking for a principal for the Aviation Technology program in Ronneby. The upper secondary school currently has approximately 1100 students spread across 11 national programs and introduction programs. In the organization of the upper secondary school, you will be one of six principals. You will be responsible for the Aviation Technology program, which is a national school educating aircraft mechanics, as well as our Higher Vocational Education program training aviation technicians. The education is based at Ronneby Garrison in Kallinge, where the school collaborates closely with, among others, the Flight Squadron F 17 and the Helicopter Squadron. Read about Ronneby Municipality at https://bit.ly/ArbetapåRonnebykommun JOB DESCRIPTION You are responsible for the Aviation Technology education at both upper secondary and Higher Vocational Education levels, both based at F 17, Blekinge Air Force Wing. As the programs adhere to international aviation regulations, you will also be responsible for ensuring that the operations meet the requirements according to EASA Part-66 and -147. Your immediate supervisor is the head of the education administration at Ronneby Municipality. You will lead a working group consisting of individuals with experience from various areas within schooling and aviation operations. The group’s goal is to continue creating an attractive and developing education for the students, where high quality standards are an essential prerequisite. You will be responsible for contacts and collaboration with other schools offering similar programs, cross-industry organizations, and trade organizations that offer internships for students, as well as the companies and other organizations represented in the board of the Higher Vocational Education program. You will represent the school within Ronneby Garrison. You have VEPA responsibility for your school units, i.e., operational, financial, personnel, and work environment responsibility for the education you oversee. The role of principal involves close leadership and a clear focus on pedagogical development, as clearly described in the government’s steering documents. Simply put, the mission is to ensure that students achieve high goal fulfillment and good quality in your unit. You work towards a democratic, mission-focused, learning, and communicative operation. The students' learning, influence, and participation are your guiding principles. QUALIFICATIONS To fit the role of principal for the Aviation Technology program, we expect that you have a solid pedagogical understanding rooted in both education and practical experience. You thrive in collaboration with both the business sector and public entities, and you have a natural ability to build and maintain professional relationships. Your competence regarding international aviation regulations, particularly EASA Part-66/145/147, is strong, as is your insight into issues related to aviation safety and security. You communicate fluently in both Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing, and hold a B driver's license. It is advantageous if you have experience in leadership roles within civil or military aviation operations as well as education or practical experience related to EASA Part-147. It is also desirable that you possess a state principal training qualification. As a person, you have a knack for seeing the big picture and systems, and you work methodically and with sound judgment even in pressured situations. You have a good ability to understand others' perspectives and needs, while being self-driven and confident in making your own decisions. You take initiative and drive the work forward with energy and clarity, making you a stable and engaged force in the team.
