Description As the principal of Gläntan, Kronoparken 1, and Mjölnartorpet, you will have a mission that makes a difference – creating a safe, learning, and stimulating environment for our youngest citizens. You will be a key person in shaping an equitable preschool where each child is given the best possible conditions to succeed. The preschools are part of the Children and Youth Administration, responsible for education from preschool to grade 9. We work with a holistic perspective on children's learning and development. In Kronoparken, there is close collaboration with primary school and open preschool, which provides a clear 0-16 year perspective and creates unique opportunities for continuity and quality in children's educational journey. You will become part of our principal group that regularly works with common operational and developmental issues. The group is a central part of our collegiate leadership and learning, focusing on sustainable leadership. In addition, you will be part of one of our management groups for principals, where you have close support and cooperation in daily work. Work Tasks As principal of the preschools Gläntan, Kronoparken 1, and Mjölnartorpet, you will have a clear pedagogical leadership and be responsible for ensuring the quality of operations. You have overall responsibility for personnel, finances, and work environment, and will drive development issues with a focus on an equitable preschool where all children are given the best possible conditions to succeed. Your assignment includes: - Leading and developing pedagogical work with a focus on goal achievement and learning. - Organizing and following up systematic quality work, with a clear 0-16 year perspective and close collaboration with Kronoparken primary school and open preschool. - Ensuring good cooperation with guardians and creating trusting relationships. - Strategically working with operational development, organization, and work environment. You will have access to several support functions that allow you to focus on pedagogical leadership. Attached to your preschools is a special education teacher, and you will also have support from our central team with special education teachers, speech therapists, psychologist, and operational developers in the psychosocial area. Additionally, you will have support from the Children and Youth Administration's functions in HR, legal, administration, digitalization, premises, and finances. We offer a comprehensive introduction, mentorship program, and continuous internal training. All new managers participate in the municipal leadership program "Leaders in Karlstad Municipality", and if you do not have principal training, you are expected to complete it after the leadership program. Qualifications We are seeking someone with a college degree with a pedagogical orientation and good knowledge of preschool governing documents and legislation. You have experience working with systematic quality improvement and understand how it contributes to development and goal achievement. It is meritorious if you also have insight into primary school curriculum and governing documents. As a leader, you are clear, attentive, and goal-oriented. You have a relational and reflective approach, see opportunities rather than obstacles, and have the courage to try new paths. Your leadership is characterized by engagement, ability to handle complex situations, and drive development work with high ambition.
