About the Role
As an Accounting Economist, you will have a significant and central role where you are responsible for the accounting in several of our subsidiaries. You will be a key person who ensures quality, structure, and order, while also serving as a natural sounding board and contributing to the creation of effective and reliable financial processes that enhance the companies' independence and quality.
In this role, you will work closely with both finance and operations and have considerable scope to influence working methods and processes. Your main task is to ensure that each company has accurate and reliable accounting while strategically working on follow-ups, internal controls, and improving routines and workflows.
Your Responsibilities
• Responsible for ongoing accounting and monthly closing for several subsidiaries
• Work with project accounting and percentage-of-completion accounting
• Ensure effective and clear routines, processes, and financial workflows
• Develop and implement new working methods that improve financial processes
• Provide support to subsidiaries on financial matters
• Conduct reconciliations, provisions, and accruals
• Prepare annual financial statements and reports
• Work with budgets and forecasts
• Participate in improvement projects, system development, and internal controls
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with relevant education and several years of experience in accounting, preferably from a similar industry, and who is familiar with monthly and annual closings. You have a good understanding of reconciliations, provisions, and accruals and are curious about – or have experience with – project accounting and percentage-of-completion accounting.
You are structured and analytical and enjoy creating order and oversight over multiple companies simultaneously. You are proactive, solution-oriented, and see opportunities to improve routines and working methods. You thrive in a role where you can be a support and sounding board for others, are confident in your expertise, communicative, and enjoy influencing working methods and processes.
