It is the strength of the people that makes Avesta unique. Together, we are building the future of Avesta – would you like to be a part of it?
Bergsnässkolan is the small school located in central Avesta. Currently, around 220 students attend the school. The size of the school is one of our many strengths! All teachers and students work closely together, and we prioritize maintaining high-quality teaching combined with a strong sense of safety and well-being.
As a recess activist at Bergsnässkolan, you will work to create a safe, fun, and inclusive recess environment by planning, implementing, and motivating students to participate in recess activities. Your role involves promoting community, counteracting exclusion, and contributing to a positive school environment. You will serve as a positive role model during recess, greeting students, welcoming newcomers to play, and encouraging good camaraderie. You will be responsible for ensuring that recess activities are conducted in a safe and fair manner and help encourage students to dare to participate. You will pay attention to students who are alone or seem to be on the outskirts. If necessary, you will resolve any conflicts that arise.
When students are not on recess, you will work alongside teachers in classrooms to contribute to increased safety and a conducive learning environment. Here, your tasks may vary based on your skills and previous experiences.
We are looking for someone with experience working with children and youth in school or leisure activities. You have experience as a leisure educator/leisure leader or possess equivalent qualifications. You have prior experience arranging and conducting recess activities or similar events where children in the relevant age group have participated. You can actively engage in the activities you organize. You have a good command of Swedish, both spoken and written, and possess solid knowledge of conflict resolution and interpersonal communication.
You are an important part of the school's efforts to create a safe school environment!
