Bank Unit, Financial Markets Department, Ministry of Finance The Financial Markets Department is responsible for preparing the basis for the government's policy in the financial sector. The Bank Unit is one of four units in the department and is responsible for analysis and legislation in the banking area, payment markets, and combating money laundering and terrorist financing. Since the global financial crisis, the unit's work has been characterized by extensive regulation, rapid technological development in the field, and the EU's regulatory agenda. Your Workday. Sweden's Tomorrow At the Bank Unit, economists and lawyers work together on both negotiation and legislative projects. As a legal expert with us, you may participate in EU negotiations on new legal acts and develop legislation in the field. Developments in the financial market involve extensive legislative work in the department. The work is sometimes conducted at a high pace. The role includes contacts with the Ministry of Finance's political leadership, other departments and ministries, parliament, authorities such as the Financial Supervisory Authority and the Swedish National Debt Office, as well as various industry organizations. Current issues in the unit's area include combating money laundering and terrorist financing, both within the framework of the international working group Financial Action Task Force (FATF) and through implementing the EU's new anti-money laundering regulations. Other current issues include capital adequacy and crisis management rules for banks, payments, macro-supervision, and over-indebtedness. Your Background We are seeking someone with a law degree and who is a court of appeals or administrative court of appeals assessor. Relevant experience working in the Government Offices, public authority, or financial market is meritorious. It is a requirement for the position to have a good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English. Other Information We offer an appointment as a legal expert for those who are court of appeals or administrative court of appeals assessors employed in a court. Commencement as soon as possible or by agreement. A security assessment will be conducted before a decision on employment is made.
