We are now seeking a Forensic Medical Assistant for the Forensic Medicine Unit in Uppsala. The unit consists of approximately 20 employees who work together to perform forensic autopsies and issue forensic medical certificates. Your Assignment As a Forensic Medical Assistant, you will primarily work with practically preparing and assisting in forensic autopsies. This includes performing organ removal and sample collection, preparing deceased individuals, and associated morgue work. The role also involves contact with police, relatives, and funeral directors. You will be involved in the unit's donation work. Other tasks within the framework of the unit and department's mission may also occur. Qualifications: • Minimum high school diploma, e.g., nursing assistant education, or equivalent education assessed as comparable by the National Board of Forensic Medicine • Current work experience deemed relevant by the employer • Good Swedish language skills, both spoken and written Meriting • Documented course/training in anatomy • Experience with deceased individuals, for example, from autopsy services, healthcare, or emergency services Personal Qualities and Abilities Handling the work requires both integrity and personal maturity. The tasks are both physically and mentally challenging. They include fine motor skills and physically demanding moments, requiring good physical condition, as well as the ability to manage difficult situations during death investigations. The work requires high quality awareness and good collaborative skills. We seek someone who is attentive to the organization's and colleagues' needs and contributes to a positive work environment. Other tasks within the unit and department's mission may occur, so a flexible approach is essential in the role. We place great importance on your personal qualities. Employment We offer a permanent position starting with a six-month probationary period at the Forensic Medicine Unit in Uppsala. Start date by agreement. The agency's units are located in various places in Sweden, so travel may be required. The National Board of Forensic Medicine applies individual salary setting.
