Your Role As the Group CIO, you will be responsible for setting the direction and creating the conditions for long-term, sustainable IT development. This is a new role that offers significant scope to shape the strategy and realize it, from concept to implementation. You will build structure in a complex IT environment, ensure stability, and lead innovation that makes technology a strategic force for business development and societal benefit. In close collaboration with the business, group management, and external partners, you will drive decisions and create consensus. The work is both strategic and operational, focusing on business value, efficiency, and a robust, future-proof IT organization that enables innovation and the path to net-zero. You will report directly to the Group CEO. Your Main Responsibilities • Design IT strategies that drive digitalization and translate them into action to create business value and competitiveness. • Introduce and integrate new technologies to streamline processes and create business value. • Build a future-proof IT environment and develop the IT organization through change management, skills development, and a culture that fosters innovation. • Lead Group IT with full responsibility for finance, operations, and personnel. • Create and nurture relationships that strengthen innovation and make change possible through close collaboration with internal functions and external stakeholders. We Are Looking For You We are looking for a CIO who wants to help shape the future of Mälarenergi. You are a strategic leader who combines business acumen with the ability to drive digital transformation in complex environments. With a communicative and inspiring leadership style, you build trust, create consensus, and lead change. Experience in strategic IT leadership and digitalization is essential. You have the ability to switch between the big picture and details, to translate visions into action, and to build a culture that promotes innovation and collaboration. Your strength lies in recognizing opportunities in new technology and using data to create business value and sustainable development. A relevant academic background is an advantage, but your experience carries more weight. Experience in the energy sector or other critical infrastructure is a plus, as is knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and digital solutions that contribute to sustainability.
