The Department for Educational Materials and Professional Development produces educational materials and learning tools and has overall responsibility for SPSM's course and professional development activities. We provide production support to publishers that produce educational materials for students with disabilities. Our own productions are accessible and tailored to the students' needs. We also make adaptations to educational materials to ensure accessibility. The service "Find Educational Materials" guides educators in finding suitable materials for special educational contexts. The department also develops national professional development for those working in preschools, schools, and adult education, with a focus on special education. We are currently seeking an Educational Materials Advisor for the Promotion and Production Support Unit, based in Stockholm or Örebro. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES The Promotion and Production Support Unit works with commercial educational publishers and producers to increase access to educational materials for students with disabilities. Our promotional work includes both advisory services and financial support. To stimulate the production of educational materials in the commercial market, we provide financial support in the form of production grants. Publishers apply for this financial support, which can be awarded for all or part of the production of accessible educational materials. Managing production support involves processing applications and serving as a contact person for ongoing production support projects. The proactive work includes continuous monitoring of the external environment and collaboration with organizations in various areas of interest. Examples of job tasks: • Process production support applications and conduct investigations prior to decisions • Serve as a contact person for publishers and producers • Gather information and stay updated on research and development to offer relevant support • Create and maintain networks internally within the agency and externally with publishers, producers, and contacts in school development contexts • Establish relationships and raise awareness of the unit's mission among publishers and producers • Describe the needs of target groups and provide support in the design of educational materials for publishers and producers • Participate in development work to further enhance and improve routines and processes. QUALIFICATIONS To be qualified for the position, you should have: • A higher education degree that the employer deems relevant, for example, with a focus on pedagogy/special education • Documented experience in educational work for students with disabilities • Basic knowledge of digital educational materials and AI tools • Excellent ability to express yourself verbally and in writing It is advantageous if you have experience in: • Working in the publishing industry • Working in educational material development • Working with students with disabilities • Government authority operations or managing government grants • Knowledge of the school’s organization and governing documents • Knowledge of usability, WCAG, and standards and guidelines for accessibility • Knowledge of digital educational materials and platforms • Knowledge of the opportunities and limitations of AI as a tool in educational material production Personal qualities You should have the ability to work strategically and possess strong analytical skills. You are curious, creative, and have good collaboration skills with a humble approach. You should also have the ability to work both in teams and independently. You should have experience collaborating in groups of various compositions and sizes and with different professions. Personal suitability and previous experience are highly valued. General information and requirements The position is located at our office in Stockholm or Örebro. We usually hold meetings remotely, but travel may also occur as part of the job. We want you to have a good balance between work and leisure. Therefore, you have the opportunity to work a portion of your working hours remotely, if the operations allow and in consultation with your manager. OTHER A probationary period of 6 months applies.
