WORK TASKS
Do you have good knowledge of meadows and pastures, hay, and feed production? Do you understand agricultural conditions and believe in a vital Swedish agriculture? Do you have the ability to see the big picture and understand interconnections while managing complex details and dependencies? Then you could be our new colleague!
The position involves compiling, analyzing, evaluating, and packaging scientifically-based knowledge for sustainable and competitive use of meadows, pastures, and high-quality forage production through hay cultivation. This knowledge will be disseminated through various channels such as advisor courses, newsletters, and different types of informational materials.
The work involves extensive contacts, both within the Swedish Agricultural Board and externally, including advisory organizations, universities, county administrative boards, and other agencies.
As an advisor in pasture and hay production, you will be part of the Environment and Climate Knowledge Hub, working to actively influence and contribute to increased, robust, and sustainable food production. This involves balancing potentially conflicting interests - such as promoting biodiversity or production - or ideally finding ways to combine them.
Within the knowledge hub, we work on skills development in areas including biodiversity, ecological production, reduced climate impact, plant nutrition, and plant protection. We collaborate on tasks that need to be performed, which means you may also have opportunities to work on other assignments. You should therefore be able to handle a flexible work approach, adapt to changing tasks based on new priorities, and thrive in a dynamic environment.
Colleagues in the Environment and Climate Knowledge Hub are primarily regionally located at the Swedish Agricultural Board's three advisory units. This position is located at the Biodiversity and Eco Advisory Unit.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are seeking candidates with an academic degree in agricultural science or another equivalent education as assessed by the employer, combined with advisory experience. Experience in production advisory services or skills development in meadows, pastures, hay, or applied research in the field is considered meritorious.
The position requires excellent Swedish and English communication skills, both verbal and written.
Travel is part of the role, so a driver's license is required.
We place great importance on personal qualities and seek someone who is collaborative, quickly finds solutions to emerging problems, and can effectively plan work with various deadlines. You should have a genuine interest in understanding global changes and their impact on work, particularly focusing on environmental and climate aspects. You will stay updated in your field and have a desire to understand and adapt to others' information and knowledge needs. It is also important that you feel comfortable representing a government agency and can balance personal views with the organization's stance.
Warm welcome to apply!
Interviews will be conducted during weeks 49 and 50.
