About this role
Description
Do you want to be an important part of Ryaskolan? We are currently seeking a psychologist for a 50% position, with the possibility of increased working hours.
Ryaskolan is a multicultural primary school with students from preschool to grade 6. For several years, our focus has been on language development across all subjects. At Ryaskolan, we currently have three prioritized goals that permeate the entire school and all teaching:
- Language development work: we actively work to develop language, reading, and writing strategies in all grades.
- Cooperative learning and cooperative strategies: a didactic method based on collaboration and shared learning for students.
- Value-based work: the entire school collaborates on the school's approach and rules throughout the year.
At Ryaskolan, we work together to ensure that students develop to the fullest extent possible based on their abilities. Here, you will meet engaged colleagues and a supportive school leadership team.
Responsibilities
You will be part of the school's student health team alongside the principal, special educator, counselor, school nurse, and school doctor. Our primary mission is to work together with the team to ensure that all students achieve the educational goals. Together, we work preventively and promote students' learning environments while removing obstacles to their goal attainment. The principal is responsible for leading and directing the work of the student health team. In your daily work at the schools, you will collaborate closely and actively with other professionals in the student health team and participate in student health team meetings where you will contribute your psychological expertise.
As a psychologist, your responsibilities will include supervision, consultation, observation, and support for individual educators and teams. The work also involves assessments and evaluations of students, groups, or parts of the organization to contribute to knowledge about conditions for health, learning, and development. As a psychologist in the Hisingen educational area, you will have a psychologist group of about 20 people readily available, including professional developers and PLA. The group strives for a culture of collaboration and meets regularly for collegial support, continuing education, supervision, and professional development. Newly hired psychologists are always offered a mentor.
For the parts of your work that fall under the Health and Medical Services Act, there is a quality management system and methodological support in place. There is also a local PLA for support and continuing education on issues related to patient safety. All health and medical work, such as psychological assessments, must take place in adapted premises, which also include office space.
