Forensic Psychologist

Forensic Psychiatry Brinkåsen Forensic Psychiatry at Brinkåsen consists of five care units with different focuses based on psychiatric diagnosis. Common to all care units is that our patients are sentenced to closed forensic psychiatric care. The facility offers a health-promoting care environment where operations are conducted in modern and activity-adapted premises. Our mission is to increase the patient's mental health through care and treatment. Our goal is to make the patient more involved in their care. Individualizing care interventions increases the patient's chances of gaining control over their illness and thus preventing recidivism. The facility has several different skills and professionals to support our care processes with the aim of achieving our treatment goals. Job Responsibilities As a psychologist, you will work with assessments and risk evaluations, individually tailored treatment interventions, supervision/teaching for other staff. Other tasks include risk management from a crime prevention perspective, participation in care planning meetings, and promoting the psychological perspective during rounds. You will be part of a team with doctors, counselors, occupational therapists, nurses, social pedagogues, and nursing assistants. The position offers considerable space for independent work planning. We value a long-term and quality-oriented perspective aimed at designing and implementing individually adapted care interventions and necessary crime prevention interventions. This includes meeting patient requirements based on diagnosis with evidence-based treatment methods. Qualifications Licensed psychologist. Interest in forensic psychology, as well as previous experience in psychological assessment and treatment, competence in evidence-based treatment methods are meritorious. We work in teams and have continuous contact with relatives and neighboring care providers, thus placing great importance on personal suitability and ability to collaborate. Qualities such as flexibility, ability to work in teams as well as independently, and good empathetic skills are highly valued.
