About this role

About Us The Pain Team of Västra Götaland is a new initiative within the Västra Götalandsregion for the treatment of non-malignant chronic pain. The service started in January 2025 and is designed for patients who require a more specialized and interdisciplinary treatment approach than what can be offered by primary care and rehabilitation clinics. Care will be provided both physically and digitally throughout the region. The service will have interdisciplinary treatment teams and the capacity to deliver a complete basic range of specialized pain care. We strive to offer equitable care regionally and will therefore standardize the treatment offerings based on the best available knowledge. Treatment interventions will occur individually and in groups - physically, digitally, and remotely. Employees will play an important role in the development of the service and will have the opportunity to test, evaluate, and research new methods in care, assessment, and working practices. The Pain Team consists of four units located in Gothenburg, Skövde, Borås, and Uddevalla. The Gothenburg Pain Team comprises approximately twenty employees and operates from premises at Kaserntorget 11a. In addition to psychologists, the team includes psychotherapists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and medical secretaries/administrators. The service will be run in close collaboration with the Pain Center at Sahlgrenska University Hospital. We share a common referral portal and referral assessment. The Pain Team of Västra Götaland also collaborates closely with the Primary Care Research and Development Unit and the Sahlgrenska Academy. About the Role You will be an essential part of our ongoing development and design of the service alongside other employees and managers. The work will occur concurrently with patient care. As a psychologist in the team, you will conduct assessments prior to rehabilitation and work with individually tailored treatment, group therapy, and group instruction in interdisciplinary groups. Assessment and rehabilitation can take place both physically and digitally. You will also participate in the team's work concerning the patient, including team conferences. About You We are looking for a licensed psychologist with training in and experience treating patients with chronic pain. Experience in pain management, primary care, adult psychiatry, and/or occupational health care is advantageous, as are skills in CBT, ACT, short-term therapy, mindfulness, and body therapy. You should have an interest in and experience with teamwork, as well as the ability to assess patients' rehabilitation potential and summarize this in writing. Previous experience with digital care and digital tools is also desirable, along with several years of experience in the profession. As a person, we seek someone who is confident in their professional role and has a biopsychosocial perspective. You should be flexible, possess good collaborative skills, and have the ability to see the bigger picture while valuing the best interests of the service. We place great emphasis on personal suitability for the position. Other Information Selection and interviews will be conducted on an ongoing basis, so do not hesitate to apply for the position today!
