The Municipal Association of Jämtland Härjedalen is an organization that works for the benefit of the region’s municipalities. The association operates as a non-profit organization and has a board composed of politicians from all municipalities in the region.
The association places great importance on being present in municipalities throughout the region, so we are pleased if you reside in any municipality in Jämtland/Härjedalen. The Municipal Association of Jämtland Härjedalen is a remote-independent employer, where work is primarily performed from home, but we travel throughout the region based on the requirements of the position. We also have a small office on campus in Östersund where we meet bi-weekly.
Job Responsibilities
It is both an individual tragedy and a societal failure that young people are completely without employment. Meaningful employment is strongly associated with well-being, and among the UVAS group, which consists of young people outside the labor market and education, mental health issues are common. In Jämtland County, there is a high demand for labor, and the young people who are unemployed represent a significant potential needed in the job market.
Now, the municipalities, civil society, and the business community in the region are initiating a collaborative effort, led by the Municipal Association of Jämtland Härjedalen, to develop a collaboration model for how we can better support young people towards employment. The Municipal Association is therefore seeking a project manager.
The responsibilities include delivering results aligned with the project goals based on the funding application that underpins the project. The final product should consist of an effective and practical collaboration model for the target group in Jämtland County's sparse geography. It should be resource- and cost-estimated and well anchored with relevant stakeholders in the public sector, civil society, and business. It should also ensure equality in how we work with the target group across the eight municipalities in Jämtland County. The model's design will be developed in consultation with the target group and relevant stakeholders, supported by evidence. The responsibilities also include writing an application for a implementation project that will be submitted at the end of the project. The application will be based on the results of the project and will seek funding to test the model in Jämtland County for a duration of two years.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has:
• Good knowledge of the municipal activity responsibility for the target group and strong networks with those working with the target group in Jämtland County
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• An ability to easily grasp evidence and research and translate it into practice
• A solid understanding of and experience in collaboration with civil society and business
• Experience working on and applying for externally funded projects is an advantage
Personal Qualities
We place great emphasis on personal suitability and are looking for someone who:
• Is self-driven and structures and organizes work effectively while being able to see the bigger picture
• Is attentive and easily builds relationships, constantly striving to provide good service and hospitality
• Has the ability to diplomatically challenge and support depending on the situation and based on the organization's goals
We Offer
As a Project Manager, you will be offered a developing role in a completely new initiative. Here, there is a unique opportunity to be part of a cross-municipal collaboration for the region's success, which opens up new networking opportunities and valuable experience.
