At the Swedish Forest Agency, we are currently seeking a project manager for the IT department who wants to drive development and change within a forward-looking and responsible organization. The Swedish Forest Agency is facing a growing need for project management, both in operational development and IT-related initiatives. To meet the demands placed on the authority, we need to strengthen our ability to manage projects in a structured, efficient, and sustainable manner. We are now looking for a project manager with documented experience of the entire project journey from planning and execution to a secure handover to management. Projects at the Swedish Forest Agency vary in character and scope – from larger and more complex strategic projects to medium-sized operational projects with lower complexity. Overall Role You will lead projects with a focus on delivery and change. The role involves operating at the intersection of operations and IT, requiring strong communication skills and high integrity to continuously create conditions for good anchoring and understanding from other parts of the organization. As a project manager, you will be a key person in ensuring progress in both national initiatives, larger change initiatives, and medium-sized operational projects, as well as in collaboration with external stakeholders. Experience and Competence - You have an academic degree in a relevant field for the operations - Several years of experience in project management within both operational development and IT - Documented experience with agile methodologies, preferably Scrum - Well-versed in change management and leading people through change - Experience in project management within the public sector or government is an advantage - Ability to lead and coordinate cross-functional teams Personal Qualities - Clear and confident leader - Communicative, pedagogical, and capable of creating engagement - Structured, proactive, and results-oriented, yet flexible when conditions change - Collaborative with the ability to build trusting relationships internally and externally Main Responsibilities - Project planning and follow-up – define goals, scope, timeline, budget, and resources for the project - Leadership and coordination – lead the project team, which may consist of employees from the IT department, operations, and sometimes external suppliers - Communication – act as a link between various stakeholders - IT department, operations, management, and external parties - Ensure that projects are conducted in accordance with the Swedish Forest Agency's project management model. - Contribute to the development of our working methods - Actively work with change management and support the organization in adopting results and new working methods - Participate in and contribute to networks for project managers, as well as support and train less experienced project managers Our Offer to You We offer a permanent position based in Jönköping or at one of our offices in southern Sweden. Placement at a location other than Jönköping will involve business travel to the headquarters on a regular basis.
