Project Manager for the Land and Maintenance Unit

**Description** The City Environment Administration has overall responsibility for the city's public spaces and collective accessibility. We work to create accessible, attractive, and vibrant urban environments and natural areas. The administration owns and manages the tram network in Gothenburg. Approximately 900 people work within the administration. The City Environment Administration is part of the urban development administrations in Gothenburg City. Together, we work to create conditions for a functioning infrastructure, quality housing and facilities, an inviting public environment, and strive for the city to be sustainable from all perspectives. **Responsibilities** Gothenburg City faces many exciting challenges regarding the development of the city and its public spaces. We are looking for someone who wants to contribute to a sustainable society for an increasing number of Gothenburg residents! Our unit, Land and Maintenance, is responsible for maintaining, constructing, and developing squares, streets, stops, pedestrian and bicycle paths, water and sewage works, parks, and other outdoor environments for Gothenburg City. In the unit where you will work, there are about 25 employees. We are the municipality's own provider for construction and installation in street and park environments. As a project manager, you will be responsible for the planning, execution, and follow-up of various construction projects. The projects mainly involve land, road, and utility works. On behalf of the unit manager, you will lead and distribute the operational work and develop the group's activities and organization. This will be done in collaboration with employees, managers within the administration, and clients. You will have budget responsibility for the projects, which means you will work with, among other things, financial follow-up and forecasts. You will also assist the unit manager in developing strategies and enhancing the unit's operations. As an employee of Gothenburg City, it is important that you act as a representative of the employer, apply laws and regulations, use internal and external communication as tools to ensure the effective functioning of the operations, and lead and manage the activities with a focus on those whom the operations serve. Your responsibilities also include staying updated on relevant regulations and governing documents that guide the operations and ensuring compliance with these. You will have many points of contact and continuous collaboration with various partners. You will work directly with clients within Gothenburg City on both construction solutions and cost estimates. **Qualifications** We are looking for someone with experience in project and construction operations in a leading position, such as a site manager. You have relevant academic and/or vocational training or equivalent experience deemed comparable. A university degree is an advantage. We expect you to have experience in leading staff and possess strong leadership skills. This includes being attentive, responsible, goal-oriented, results-driven, and having good communication skills. You also need to have experience in administrative work and possess good knowledge of the Office suite.
