The Culture and Education Administration consists primarily of educational activities, but also other functions that make the whole work. Here you'll also find the municipality's cultural activities. Our central office at City Hall is responsible for overall coordination, and that's where you will be placed.
Kiruna is in the midst of a historic urban transformation. The social structure is changing, and our operations need to be adapted to completely new conditions. We are now seeking an experienced and driven project manager who wants to lead the work of reorganizing, relocating, and replanning the municipality's preschools and schools.

WORK TASKS
Kiruna Municipality is facing major changes in the preschool and school sector. Within the framework of urban transformation, an entirely new preschool and primary school organization will be designed. Some preschools and schools will be phased out, while others will be adapted or newly built based on Kiruna city's development. We aim to create a sustainable, high-quality, and efficient organization that delivers good education to all children and students in Kiruna's future. This is the dream job for someone who enjoys development, collaboration, and creativity!
As project manager, you will be the spider in the web for all these development processes together with a strong team of competent employees at all levels of the organization. You will have comprehensive responsibility for investigating, planning, driving, and coordinating processes both strategically and operationally. The assignment involves juggling many tasks and being able to think both broadly and deeply together with others.
You will, among other things:
• Lead and coordinate projects within preschool and school organization
• Investigate, analyze, and risk assess various alternatives
• Coordinate moves and plan new operational solutions
• Handle issues related to properties, logistics, school routes, playgrounds, organization, and catchment areas
• Drive collaboration with many internal and external parties
• Plan anchoring and communication regarding employees and Kiruna's citizens
• Be responsible for project economics, administration, documentation, and information
You will work closely with principals, administration management, office, urban planning department, finance department, KBAB, and other actors.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are seeking someone who has:
• Academic education in urban planning, education, organizational development, or other relevant education that the employer deems equivalent and useful
• Experience organizing preschool and school operations under municipal management
• Ability to handle complex issues where urban development, operational development, organization, and pedagogy intersect
• Ability to lead, drive, and coordinate processes independently and creatively
• A structured, communicative, and collaborative working approach
• Very good ability to document and express yourself verbally and in writing
Meritorious:
• Project management experience
• Experience working and leading projects in a politically governed organization
• Knowledge of budgeting, procurement, and municipal administration
