Region Uppsala's Management Office is part of Region Uppsala, one of Uppsala County's largest employers. The management office is led by the regional director and consists of approximately one thousand employees. With a governing, supporting, and coordinating role, the management office is tasked with supporting the political leadership and administrations to ensure the political direction is implemented across the region's various operations. Our Operations
Region Uppsala has a government mandate to drive regional development in Uppsala County. The Department of Regional Development works based on the regional development strategy. We coordinate and drive the county's development together with public, private, and nonprofit actors, and our mandate also includes performing tasks within EU structural funds. We work, among other things, for social sustainability and public health, strengthened collaboration around skills provision and an inclusive labor market, as well as business development, innovation, and the development of digital infrastructure.
Your Assignment
We are seeking a regional project manager for a new labor market project funded by AMIF: "Extended Early Interventions in Collaboration in Region Uppsala". The project's main purpose is to develop forms of language support in collaboration with the county's municipalities that improve the conditions for establishment and inclusion of third-country nationals. You will become part of Region Uppsala's regional development organization in collaboration with area strategists for project activities, social sustainability, labor market, and business.
Work Tasks
As project manager, you are responsible for project management at the regional level and ongoing accounting and reporting to AMIF. You will lead the work in the project group and report to the project's regional steering committee led by Region Uppsala. You will ensure that organization and working methods are appropriate. You are responsible for communication and ensuring that horizontal principles of gender equality, accessibility, and non-discrimination permeate the project. You are responsible for target group verification to ensure the correct target group.
The position involves a broad mandate related to an inclusive labor market and monitoring the external environment. You will collaborate with strategists for labor market and skills provision and participate in developing the department's working methods related to externally funded projects. The work is done in collaboration with the county's municipalities, county administrative board, other public actors, and civil society. Follow-up, analysis, and consultation responses are also included, as well as preparation of matters for politics and management.
Your Qualifications
You have post-secondary education focused on project management, pedagogy, skills provision, labor market, integration, or education that the employer deems equivalent competence for the position.
You are an experienced project manager with good knowledge of strategic work with externally funded projects, preferably through AMIF or EU structural funds. You are accustomed to driving projects and working towards project goals with indicators at individual, organizational, and project levels. You have experience with reporting, budget follow-up, and common regulations, as well as integrating horizontal principles and change theory.
You have experience in development and change work and independently leading and driving collaborative projects with relevant actors and networks. You are accustomed to being responsible for a meeting structure with both internal and external actors, have very good knowledge of the Swedish language, and strong communication skills.
Experience working in a politically governed organization is meritorious. As is experience working with the project's target group and from municipal, regional, or state collaboration within the framework of labor market, integration, and human rights issues.
