About this role
Do you want to help create the future of sustainable food solutions? With us, you'll have the opportunity to work at the intersection of research and industry. We are seeking a business-driven project manager with microbiological expertise who wants to contribute to a more sustainable and competitive food industry. Here, you'll work with committed colleagues, lead exciting assignments, and make a real difference for both companies and society.
About Us
The Microbiology and Hygiene Unit belongs to the Food Division at RISE. We work with research and innovation in microbiology, process hygiene, and biotechnology, with a primary focus on food and the food industry. Within the unit, we primarily work with applied research, development, and problem-solving for assignments that support companies and partners. We work interdisciplinarily to create holistic solutions and have many surrounding competencies at RISE that strengthen our offering, including product design, process technology, flavor, texture, sensory science, nutrition, and sustainability calculations. Here, you'll become part of Sweden's largest research institute with a broad network of experts and collaborative partners throughout the food chain.
About the Role
In this role, you will be responsible for developing and driving our business within microbiology and hygiene. You'll work with both customer assignments and research projects, from idea to implementation and completion, in close collaboration with colleagues, laboratory personnel, and researchers.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Drive business work with customers: nurture existing relationships, receive new inquiries, and develop collaborations.
• Contribute to the business area's development together with colleagues and business managers.
• Initiate, plan, and lead projects in microbiology and hygiene, primarily for the food industry but also other sectors.
• Participate in research and innovation projects and contribute microbiological expertise.
• Plan trials and interpret laboratory analysis results in collaboration with laboratory personnel.
• Conduct theoretical microbiological risk analyses for industrial processes and products.
• Represent RISE in customer meetings, training, and other external contexts.
The role involves significant responsibility for a growing project portfolio, where you both create new business opportunities and lead assignments that engage others in the unit. Over time, the role may develop towards greater business responsibility, international collaborations, or more complex research projects.
Location: Gothenburg
Travel: Primarily regional and national, to a limited extent. The position may be placed in a security class, which means a security screening may occur in the future.
