Welcome to us! JOB DESCRIPTION Kalmar Municipality is actively working to create a more sustainable and circular management of excavated material. We aim to reduce transportation, conserve natural resources, and increase the reuse of materials in our construction and development projects. Do you have a strong interest in environmental and geotechnical issues and want to contribute specialized knowledge in a wide range of development and infrastructure projects within Kalmar Municipality? As a project manager, you will be part of the Land and Development Unit. You will work strategically with material management in the municipality's urban development projects, from planning to implementation. You will be involved in environmental issues, particularly concerning contaminated areas. You will serve as project support and a link to other project managers within the municipality's administrations and companies. Examples of tasks: • Develop and coordinate the municipality's strategy for material management • Participate in detailed planning work and create material management plans • Analyze economic, climatic, and logistical implications • Represent material management in decisions where it may conflict with other project goals • Monitor and contribute to national developments in the field • Order and follow up on investigations and analyses QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone with a degree in engineering, higher education, or vocational training in civil engineering, infrastructure, environment, or similar fields. You have experience in project management, preferably within the construction and civil engineering sector. Knowledge in geotechnics, soil properties, environmental science, sustainable resource management, and environmental planning is advantageous for this position. A valid driver's license (B category) is a requirement. You possess a holistic view and understand how material management impacts urban development, economics, and the environment. With your analytical skills, you can identify complex relationships and make informed decisions. You are proactive and take responsibility for driving the work forward. You are a team player who builds good relationships with colleagues, other administrations, municipal companies, and external partners. Your strong communication skills allow you to express yourself clearly and professionally, both orally and in writing, and you adapt your message according to the audience and context.
