In Luleå, LKAB is planning an industrial park for extracting critical minerals from what is currently mining waste from our iron ore production. We plan to produce rare earth metals used in electric cars and wind turbines, and phosphorus, a crucial component of mineral fertilizers that helps put food on the table. Collectively, these are vital for our transition, electrification, and Europe's self-sufficiency.
Your Role
We are seeking someone who will be responsible for establishing and driving the structure and methods for World Class Manufacturing (WCM) within LKAB's planned industrial park in Luleå. The role involves comprehensive responsibility for implementing working methods and quality routines in accordance with WCM, as well as building the organization ahead of operational launch.
You will be instrumental in planning and leading the implementation of operations and acting as the client towards the project organization before investment decisions.
As WCM Project Manager, you are a key person responsible for establishing and driving our World Class Manufacturing strategy. You will lead the work of developing our processes, management system, and culture – focusing on:
• Safety Culture and Work Environment – you are a strong advocate for "Zero Harm"
• LEAN and Continuous Improvements – you build structures for value-creating work
• Management System – you are responsible for establishing and maintaining our integrated management system (quality, environment, work environment)
Your Assignment
• Build and implement WCM strategy from the ground up
• Develop and manage management systems according to ISO standards (quality, environment, work environment)
• Drive improvement work and coach the organization in LEAN principles
• Create a culture where safety, quality, and efficiency are an integrated part of daily life
Your Background
We are seeking candidates with relevant education and experience from the chemical industry and understanding of green field project challenges.
You have previous experience with similar tasks in areas like LEAN and quality.
As a person, you are a team player who seeks to structure the context around you and create clear direction in the areas you are responsible for.
